So, here we sit many months into a witch hunt and what do we have? The House of Representatives led by Speaker Nancy Pelosi has presented articles of impeachment, has actually impeached President Trump and now refuses so far to submit it all to the Senate for trial. How much money was spent? How many millions of taxpayer dollars were wasted looking for some evidence of wrongdoing by our President? The investigation into President Clinton cost over $40,000,000 in 1998. And to find out what? That he cheated on Hillary with a 21 year old intern? Even though I didn't like Clinton being President, in hindsight I am disappointed that the government spent that time and effort trying to take down a duly-elected President. What was done to Clinton is the same thing being done today. It's just a political witch hunt to try and take down a President and revers an election. If there was any real evidence that President Trump had committed some type of high crime, we would have see t...
I can remember back in 1992 when H. Ross Perot was running as an independent against then-President George Bush and the Governor of Arkansas, Bill Clinton the budget was a huge issue. America had been running budget deficits for decades and by that time, we had only a $4 trillion national debt. The only president in my lifetime that actually balanced the budget ended up being Bill Clinton. He had raised the top marginal tax rate from 33% to 39.6%, and from 1994 until he left office he had a congress that was controlled by the GOP. If memory serves me correctly, he left office with a budget surplus of around $600,000,000.00 That is pretty significant considering how large the deficits are these days. I can only imagine what if we had stayed on that track. That was the 1990s. And here we are in a new decade more than twenty years later and it seems like the debt and deficit aren't even a blip on the radar of the average voter. When was the last time you heard a college student m...
Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders says that healthcare is a right. Think about that for a minute? Think about what a right is. The First Amendment says that you have a right to free speech and to print your ideas and distribute them. It also says that you have the right to practice your religion. It doesn't however say anywhere in it that the government has to provide you with a platform to speak, it doesn't say that people have to listen to you and it certainly doesn't mean that the government has to build you a house of worship. The rights in the constitution are restrictions on government. They are not concessions made to the people by the government. Nobody is required to be a doctor in the United States. They literally could all quit tomorrow morning. What would we do then? Would Bernie then demand that those who are licensed to practice medicine be conscripted into involuntary service like the military draft of yesteryear? No Bernie, healthcare is a for-profit ind...
