Should there be a minimum wage?

How does someone like Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren come to the conclusion that a small business owner with maybe five employees who are making minimum wage of $7.25 per hour now needs to almost double their labor costs? The small business owner is shelling out a minimum of $75,400.00 per year in labor costs, which doesn't include the matching payroll takes that employers are required to pay.

If a federally mandated minimum wage of $15 comes about, that same employer is now looking at a minimum labor cost of $150,000.00 per year. There is no guarantee that there will be more productivity from these employees to offset the higher cost of labor either.

What do you think that small business owner will be ultimately forced to do? In order to keep costs down and stay profitable, that company is going to likely have no choice other than to lay at least three of the five employees off. Is that what Sanders and his communist cronies really want?
